Buying your Home with Us
We know the thought of buying a new home can seem overwhelming.
That’s why we’ve simplified the home-buying process into 6 steps - designed to help you glide through each stage with ease.

Choose your dream home
Time to reserve
Once you’ve found your perfect plot and are in a proceedable position, we’ll take you through our reservation form together, as well as process your £1000 deposit.
If you don’t have a mortgage in principle just yet, we can advise you on what to do in order to become proceedable.
Sorting the contracts
It’s now time to appoint a solicitor to organise the legal purchase of your new home. Don’t worry if you don’t have one sorted yet, we can give you contact details for our approved solicitors.
Prior to exchange, your solicitor will require a 10% deposit, plus the cost of any additional extras you’ve added to your new home. Following exchange, we’ll be able to provide you with a more accurate build completion date so you can make all your necessary arrangements.
Meet the team, and your home!
We think it’s really important that you meet the WHY team before completing on your home. We will arrange both a post-plaster visit to walk you round your new home, as well as a pre-handover visit 2-weeks prior to completion so we can demonstrate how everything works in your new home.
Move in day
On the day of legal completion, we'll await a call from our solicitor to confirm that funds have been received and your house purchase is then complete!
Hooray! You’re officially a new home-owner and we can hand you the keys to your brand new home! You’ll also receive our Ward Homes Yorkshire Welcome Package to help celebrate the big day.
Settle in
Remember, we’re here to ensure everything runs smoothly as you settle into your new home. Just get in touch with the Site Manager if you have any questions about any of the features of your new home once you’ve had time to try everything out.
