What is the Consumer Code?
The Consumer Code came into effect on 1 st April 2010 and applies to all Homebuilders registered with the UK’s main new Home Warranty Bodies NHBC, Premier Guarantee, LABC Warranty and Checkmate. All homes reserved from the 1 st January 2024 will be covered by the Fifth Edition.
Why is the Consumer Code import to homebuyers?
The Code is there to ensure that homebuyers:
- Are treated fairly by the Builder
- To be given clear and reliable information on which to make informed decisions
- To know what service levels to expect
